Initiative Africa

INITIATIVE AFRICA (IA) is a not-for-profit, non-partisan, Think Tank organization that brings together practitioners and their organizations to improve and innovate governance and development practices in Ethiopia and in Africa.

Through locally driven development programs and activities, IA promotes the study of public and private governance, particularly within an African context, strengthens collective empowerment, facilitates dialogue and knowledge sharing.

OUR MISSION
IA is an organization that fights inequality, injustice and power differentials by promoting actions that advance Human Rights, Good Governance and Democracy and by building the capacity of local NGOs/CSOs working in this area.

OUR VISION
To enhance the knowledge respect and observance of Democracy, Human Rights and Good Governance in Ethiopia and in Africa.

WHO ARE WE?

IA is composed of a group of professional staff, reporting to a Board of Directors. These distinguished individuals from the public and private sectors. Executive Board Members are selected by IA’s Voting Members. These are individuals who have supported the goals of the organization, and/or continue to help the organization accomplish its objectives.
