Introduction

This program encompasses three different components: analysis of information about the sources of tension and conflict, mobilization, and management of conflicts to develop innovative solutions to some of our most complex problems.

 

Who should attend

This program is designed for people who have roles or responsibility for managing, negotiating or advising on situations of group or organizational conflicts. Participants include those who deal with individuals or groups with competing interests, or who have regulatory, policy, enforcement, or similar responsibilities.

What you will learn

Review conflict analysis and management, including the most commonly used concepts, models and practices;
  • Discuss strategies, procedures, and the application of skills that are used in negotiation and mediation;

  • Discuss how theory and practice can best be applied to disputes with public, private and voluntary organizations;

  • Explore the legal implications and recourses available in Ethiopia to deal with conflict in community;

  • Examine ways of designing effective dispute resolution mechanisms for different kinds of conflicts.
